Hello Monday. I was giving a beginner class this morning on social networking and it came up that this client didn’t yet know how to make a picture of what was on her monitor or a “screen shot”. It is a nice tool to be able to utilize for many occasions. A lot of people use it to send pics of error messages to my husband to show him what is going on with their computers, which can be helpful. I use it alot within my blog as a way to make sure you know what the screen should look like when you are learning a new technique or tool. Here is one from today:
There are many other reasons you may want or need to do this and here is how you go about it:
1. Have what you want up on your monitor.
2. Click the Print Screen button on your keyboard in the upper right area.
3.Go and open the Paint program in your Accesories folder (if you have other photo programs that you are familiar with like Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Digital Image Studio or others you can use them, but for the sake of ease Paint is there and it works fine)
4. When Paint is opened go to Edit then Paste. Your shot will appear and from there you can crop the image and do what you want with it.
5. When it is ready save it in what format you like such as jpeg and you are all set!
Hope this was useful!
